I painted this in a series of 4. I wanted them to be about stereotypes, labels, mother guilt, balancing life and the wisdom you gain from growing older.
 
One of my favourite things about getting older is not taking any s$#% from anyone and being confident to speak my truth. As an X gen child I was taught to respect my elders which got me into a lot of trouble. When I had my 1st son, I found I had to speak up for him a lot. I was painfully shy before that but have found my voice sharing it in my art and classes. I am way more confident at 45 than I was even a year ago.
