I painted this in a series of 3. I wanted them to be about self care.
 
What popped into my head when I sat with her after she was finished was the facade we put on pretending everything is ok, silently swearing under our breath after picking up the eleventy billionth toy for the day or repeating yourself for the millionth time. Take a breath, look inward, put things into perspective.
 
Life is short and these moments go quickly.
