I really enjoyed making this. Abstraction is one of my favourite styles and one of the most frustrating too. It is unintentional. 
This painting started with blobs of cool colours, with fluorescent orange and pink stenciled over the top. 
I then put the painting up against my tv and sat back and stared at it for a while to see if anything jumped out at me. I turned it around and around and kept seeing the girl on the side. A painting buddy, Cindy, said she saw the reindeer so I went with that. The blue and green shape turned into the girl and I filled out the blue to turn it into a reindeer. Then I finished it off with lots of marks with posca pens.
 
When you think of reindeer, most people think of Christmas. This painting is "Not Necessarily Christmas". You don't only have to have this hanging at Christmas, it is perfect all year around.
It is a fun bright artwork that appeals to adults and children.
 
Measurements are: 40.5x29.5cm on watercolour paper.
